'Community Server' Performance Art
I am proud to announce that next week I will be performing a public reading. I have been thinking a lot about the subject of community. Apparently I am not the only one. Many in the Salon system of sites discuss their relationships in terms of community. The server itself where I will be conducting the public reading is even called a 'community server'. Much of the discussion about the tools used to manage this writing environment are called 'social software' or community building tools.
More details will follow. However at this point I'd like to ask my readers to check out the venue at 2pm PST on Friday August 29th, 2003. There will be no admission as the event is to be free for all. I am still working out the details. There should be a poster for the event over the weekend which you will be welcome to use to point to the event if you desire. I am working on getting refreshments served. (No guarantees however) The event should last approximately a half an hour.

UPDATE It should be noted that if the Salon server is down the reading will be rescheduled.

so i'm confused. is this a "real" reading or something on the internet? is it at a place? does refreshments mean delicious cocktails and nibbly-things? will you be naked and doing gymnast-type tricks as you read? so many details...

Who's to say what is a "real" reading. It will certainly be held on the internet at the address I pointed to.
I'm not exactly sure what the refreshments will be or even if I will be able to deliver on that. (Refreshments are a come on for those not nudged by curiosity and/or great literature(LOL).) Like i said I'm still working on the details.
I haven't decided yet whether I'll be naked for the reading. Stranger things have happened. I'll be at my office during a work day so chances are nudity will not be involved.
